Citation:

Pillai, P., A. Njegovan, Johnt Walker, E. Cooter, D. Kirchgessner, AND V. Aneja. Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Biofuel Crops and Parameterization in the EPIC Biogeochemical Model. Annual meeting of American Chemical Society, Philadelphia, PA, August 19 - 23, 2012.

Impact/Purpose:

This research was conducted under ACE Task 178 to: 1) collect field data for the purpose of characterizing soil N2O emissions from fertilized biofuel crops and; 2) development and testing of an N2O soil emission model suitable for regional modeling applications.

Description:

This presentation describes year 1 field measurements of N2O fluxes and crop yields which are used to parameterize the EPIC biogeochemical model for the corresponding field site. Initial model simulations are also presented.
