METHOD 530 DETERMINATION OF SELECT SEMIVOLATILE ORGANIC CHEMICALS IN DRINKING WATER BY SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION AND GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY/ MASS SPECTROMETRY (GC/MS)

Citation:

Grimmett, P. METHOD 530 DETERMINATION OF SELECT SEMIVOLATILE ORGANIC CHEMICALS IN DRINKING WATER BY SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION AND GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY/ MASS SPECTROMETRY (GC/MS). U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, 2015.

Impact/Purpose:

Method for the analysis of select semi-volatile CCL3 compounds in drinking water by GC/MS, to potentially be used in future UCMRs.

Description:

1.1. This is a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method for the determination of selected semivolatile organic compounds in drinking waters. Accuracy and precision data have been generated in reagent water, and in finished ground and surface waters for the compounds listed in the table below. This method was initially developed with full scan GC/MS, but performance has also been demonstrated in the selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode using all analytes. SIM is useful when enhanced sensitivity is desirable.
