Description:
Surface modification of magnetic nanoparticles with chiral scaffolds for asymmetric catalytic applications is an elegant way of providing a special pseudo homogenous phase which could be separated using an external magnet. In this review, we summarize the use of magnetic nanoparticles as a heterogeneous catalyst support in asymmetric synthesis. The ease of recovery of expensive catalysts and their recyclability without loss in activity is an important characteristic of sustainable process. The article highlights the developments and progress in the field of asymmetric synthesis using magnetic supports.
