This study serves as a start of future research on the subject. his study shows that the canyon geometry and the upstream boundary conditions have significant influences on the flow and concentration fields in the vicinity of urban street canyons. ollutants emitted within a canyon will generally not be transported to the front of the upstream buildings. he recirculating flow above the upstream building depends more strongly on the upstream shear level than the relative canyon configuration. he flow and concentration pattern inside the canyon depends on both the upstream flow conditions (wind shear and turbulence) and the relative heights of the buildings on both sides of the canyon. he dispersion fields behind the downstream building depend on both the flow characteristics within the canyon and the downstream building height. hen there is more than one canyon the downwind direction, the upstream flow conditions can be very critical to the flow and dispersion fields inside the first canyon, but they are not as important to the concentration fields inside the consecutive canyons. he dispersion fields in the vicinity of the first canyon area very similar to the corresponding cases involving only one canyon and the same upstream boundary conditions. he fields in the relative geometric configuration on two sides of the canyon but with the atmospheric shear and turbulence in the upstream flow.
