Keeping the Bootcamp Fun Alive!

Citation:

Hollister, Jeff, A. Smith, AND P. August. Keeping the Bootcamp Fun Alive! Software Carpentry, Narragansett, RI, n/a, (2014).

Impact/Purpose:

In January of 2014, Jeff Hollister co-hosted, along with the URI Coastal Institute, a Software Carpentry Bootcamp to teach scientists (10 attended from USEPA AED)how to utilize computers better and to develop software with R. Additionally, a follow on course to the bootcamp was held in which several EPA staff attended to help refine and expand the skills they learned in the bootcamp. As reproducible research was a focus of the follow on course, the impact of this should be a more reproducible form of science from the attendees in general and the EPA participants in particular.
