Description:

As an invited speaker, Dr. Leazer will deliver a plenary lecture and participate in a panel discussion at the 2013 AIChE National Meeting in San Francisco, CA. AIChE has embraced sustainability and is looking for guidance and leadership in building their sustainability program. Dr. Leazer is an international expert in green chemistry and can provide the necessary counsel that AIChE needs. EPA is a global leader in green chemistry and has committed to advancing the principles of sustainability, as evidenced through the current RAP process. As such, EPA will directly benefit by “spreading the word” with respect to green chemistry, thereby serving in a catalytic role to empower AIChE to more effectively embrace sustainability as it applies to green chemistry. Dr. Leazer’s research represents capacity building with other international organizations for potential future collaborative efforts. EPA’s green chemistry successes will be displayed and demonstrated, thereby validating EPA’s leadership role in green chemistry. This trip will further benefit the agency because the presentations throughout the day include the latest developments and progress in GC frontier areas which are included in the RAP development for FY 15 and beyond.
