Citation:
MOVES2014: Heavy-duty Vehicle Emissions Report. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.
Impact/Purpose:
This report evaluates MOVES HD diesel NOx emission rates based on EPA’s IUVP data and Houston’s drayage programs; CNG transit bus exhaust emission rates are updated for criteria pollutants and CH4. MOVES HD gasoline HC, CO and NOx emission rates are compared to future reductions from implementing the 2008 HD Gasoline Rule. Lastly, the report describes the methods and data used to model HD engine crankcase emissions used, in turn, to differentiate tailpipe and crankcase exhaust PM2.5.
Description:
This report updates MOVES methods for evaluating current HD diesel NOx emission rates based on comparisons to independent data from EPA’s IUVP and Houston drayage programs. The report also details methods/assumptions made for HD gasoline HC, CO and NOx emission rates using reductions projected from 2008 HD Gasoline Rule implementation. The report includes updated CNG transit bus exhaust emission rates for HC, CO, NOx, PM and CH4. Finally, the report describes the methods and data used to model HD engine crankcase emissions and to incorporate separate PM2.5 speciations for tailpipe exhaust and crankcase emissions.
