sent for publication in Wiley-VCH journal, ChemCatChem

Description:

One-pot synthesis of ruthenium nanoparticles on magnetic silica is described which involve the in situ generation of magnetic silica (Fe3O4@ SiO2) and ruthenium nano particles immobilization; the hydration of nitriles and transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds occurs in high yield and excellent selectivity using this catalyst.
