Description:
A facile one-pot high-yield protocol is described for the preparation of β- and γ-hydroxy sulfides directly from diaryliodonium salts, potassium thiocyanate, and ethane-1,2-diol (ethylene glycol)/propane-1,3-diol (β-propylene glycol) without the need for any additional catalyst or base or solvent.
