Citation:

Burkhard, L., M. Bonnell, K. Borga, D. Powell, P. Leonards, D. Muir, T. Parkerton, AND K. Woodburn. Improving the Quality and Scientific Understanding of Trophic Magnification Factors (TMFs). ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. John Wiley & Sons, Ltd., Indianapolis, IN, 1:2, (2013).

Impact/Purpose:

This short 1000 word report presents a series of research needs for improving the measurement and understanding of trophic magnification factors (TMFs). TMFs are useful measures of trophic magnification and represent the diet-weighted average biomagnification factor (BMF) of chemical residues across food webs. The report will hopefully spur research to address these needs.
