A summary of EPA's research relating to potential impacts of hydraulic fracturing on drinking water resources will be presented. Background about the study plan development will be presented along with an analysis of the water cycle as it relates to hydraulic fracturing processes. An overview of research tasks involving analysis of existing data, case studies, scenario evaluations, laboratory studies and toxicological assessments will be provided.
