Integrated Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Options and Related Impacts

Citation:

Bhander, G., J. Rosati, AND N. Modak. Integrated Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Options and Related Impacts. To be Presented at Joint US EPA and NCSU Poster Session.

Impact/Purpose:

Joint US EPA and NCSU Poster Session: Provide a forum for researchers at EPA and NCSU to learn about each other's research areas.

Description:

Increased concerns over air pollution (combined with detrimental health effects) and climate change have called for more stringent emission reduction strategies for criteria air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions. However, stringent regulatory policies can possibly have adverse effect on domestic and international trade. Furthermore, global energy consumption has drawn significant attentions because of its complex interaction with environment. It has therefore become important to gain a more complete understanding of these factors through detailed technical and economic analysis. The U.S. EPA is in the process of developing database (GMOD) and models (ISIS and GCAM) that can evaluate the economic impacts of environmental regulations.
