WATER TREATMENT COST CASE STUDY LIBRARY
Description:
Resource Purpose:The case study library is a collection of "real-world" examples of detailed water treatment costs for a variety of treatment technologies and water system sizes. This library allows comparisons between EPA's modeled water treatment costs and actual treatment costs at many levels: total project, treatment components, process, engineering, and construction. These comparisons allow EPA to meaningfully describe the accuracy and uncertainty of its treatment cost estimates in response to comments regarding supporting cost analyses for drinking water rules. Under the 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act and Executive Order 12866, EPA is required to perform cost analyses and to include the results in support of its drinking water regulations.
