Impact/Purpose:

To help the City of Cleveland realize its vision by supporting the City's decision-making process by exploring ideas for re-use of vacant land, develop tools and share technical information to help the City assess and make decisions regarding the re-purposing of vacant land at the site and neighborhood scales, and Support Cleveland's long-term planning process in a way that adds value to the community and improve environmental quality.

Description:

Introduce green infrastructure, concepts and land use alternatives, to City of Cleveland operations staff. Discuss potential of green alternatives to impact daily operations and routine maintenance activities. Tie in sustainability concepts to long-term City planning and discuss how green alternatives might improve operations efficiency. Discuss decision analysis approach with smaller group to determine: 1) data and information needs; 2) identity and composition of stakeholder group; 3) land use alternatives to be included in the analysis; and 4) scale and potential valuation methods.
