Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this study is to compile and assess internal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scientific data management (SDM) policies and guidance. Additionally, this study examines SDM policies and guidance from other Federal Agencies engaged in science and technology, and compares the results to ANSI-EIA (American National Standards Institute, Electronic Industries Alliance) Standard 859 (Data Management) Principles.

Description:

The purpose of this study is to compile and assess internal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scientific data management (SDM) policies and guidance. Additionally, this study examines SDM policies and guidance from other Federal Agencies engaged in science and technology, and compares the results to ANSI-EIA (American National Standards Institute, Electronic Industries Alliance) Standard 859 (Data Management) Principles. Findings indicate that variations and differences exist in the scope and emphasis of SDM policies and guidance internally and externally.
