Our Phthalate Research Spaning the 20th and 21st Centuries. To be Presented at Seminar Phthalate Research Spanning the 20th and 21st Centuries, Research Triangle Park, NC, March 17, 2010.
Impact/Purpose:
These are slides from a presentation given to NCEA scientists working on phthalate risk assessments. This is an after-thef-act clearance.
Description:
•Hazard ID Studies •Studies to identify phthalates and other toxicants that disrupt fetal androgen function and postnatal reproductive development. Typically, a single high dose was used. • Studies with a postnatol assment of the male offspring through adult life o DEHP, BBP, DEP, DMP, DINP and DOtP in utero with postnatal assessment of male rat offspring (Gray, et al. 2000) • Administered at 750 mg/kg/d on GD 14 to PND 3 o DEHP study of fetal androgen production linked to postnatal reproductive tract alterations in male rats (Parks, et aI. 2000) • Administered at 750 mg/kg/d on GO 14 to PND 3 o DBP "Pulse study". DBP administered during different stages of gestation with postnatal assessment of male rat offspring. (Gray, et aI. 1999) o DEHP fetal endocrine and genomic study in two rat strains. SD and
