Description:
Sustainability means different things to different people, but most can agree that maintaining and supporting critical ecosystems over the long term is important for environmental and human health. Achieving sustainability involves a broad view of environmental stewardship. When we can account for and manage natural and human-made disturbances to the environment, we can balance the economic, social, and environmental aspects of sustainability in order to provide the best outcome for protecting the environment. Research into sustainable environmental management enables EPA to engineer strategies for the future. This presentation will showcase sustainability research efforts under the National Risk Management Research Laboratory
