Transport of Organic Solutes in Clay Formations

Citation:

HUANG, J., M. Goltz, A. Demond, AND D. Ayral. Transport of Organic Solutes in Clay Formations. Presented at the 2009 AGU(Amercian Geophysical Union) Fall Meeting, San Francisco, CA, December 14 - 18, 2009.

Impact/Purpose:

The report tries to search an appropriate mathematical model to explain why the enhanced transport appears when organic contaminant enters the clay aquifer system.

Description:

The research is a pilot investigation for the SERDP (Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program, DoD) founded project, Impact of Clay-DNAPL Interactions on Transport and Storage of Chlorinated Solvents in Low Permeability Zones, from 2010-2012. The report tries to search an appropriate mathematical model to explain why the enhanced transport appears when organic contaminant enters the clay aquifer system.
