Nanometal-Oxide Sunscreen Agents by Capillary Electrophoresis-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

Citation:

ROSAL, C. G. Nanometal-Oxide Sunscreen Agents by Capillary Electrophoresis-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry. Presented at 2010 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry, Fort Myers, FL, January 03 - 09, 2010.

Impact/Purpose:

Presentation material

Description:

Capillary electrophoresis with detection by ICPMS is being explored to characterize nanomaterials in waste water treatment plant effluents. TiO2 and ZnO, being widely used as UV filters in personal care products, plastics, and paints, are of concern as they enter the environment. CE-ICPMS is a potential approach to evaluate possible sources of exposure. Preliminary results will be presented here.
