Becker, D. J., M. A. SIMON, AND M. Chung-Rei. Air-Based Remediation Workshop - Section 4 In Situ Air Sparging. Presented at Forced Air Remediation Workshop, Taipei, TAIWAN, June 16 - 17, 2009.

Impact/Purpose:

To focus on the correct and effective application of forced air remediation technology by using the design and operation of in situ air sparging systems.

Description:

Pursuant to the EPA-AIT Implementing Arrangement 7 for Technical Environmental Collaboration, Activity 11 "Remediation of Contaminated Sites," the USEPA Office of International Affairs Organized a Forced Air Remediation Workshop in Taipei to deliver expert training to the Environmental Protection Administration in Taiwan. This workshop focuses on the correct and effective application of forced air remediation technology. The USEPA Office of International Affairs has requested that Michelle Simon of the USEPA along with David Becker and Mao Chung Rei of the United States Army Corps of Engineers present a course on Forced Air Remediation Technologies. This course satisfies the EPA-AIT workplan, and advances USEPA collaboration with EPAT to promote applications to remediate contaminated sites, make the expertise available to the Asia region, and build capacity to remediate sites and protect groundwater. The design and operation of In Situ Air Sparging Systems are the subjects of Section 4.
