NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL RESEARCH ASSOCIATESHIP PROGRAMS (SUBSURFACE PROTECTION AND REMEDIATION DIVISION, ADA, OKLAHOMA, NRMRL)

Citation:

Description:

The objectives of the Research Associateship Programs are (1) to provide postdoctoral scientists and engineers of unusual promise and ability opportunities for research on problems, largely of their own choice, that are compatible with the interests of the sponsoring laboratories and (2) to contribute thereby to the overall efforts of the federal laboratories. Resident Research Associateships (Type II) are awarded by the Research Council and administered by the Associateship Programs Office on behalf of the sponsoring federal agencies. At NRMRL's Subsurface Protection and Remediation Division (SPRD) in Ada, Oklahoma, research opportunities in the National Research Council Research Associateship Programs include research in such areas as natural attenuation of contaminants in the subsurface; anaerobic transformation processes; molecular characterization of subsurface ecosystems; geochemical processes in subsurface systems; and in situ remediation of contaminants in groundwater and soils using permeable reactive barriers.
