Description:
The Office of Research and Development at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) sponsored a workshop on perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) on June 3-4, 2008 at the Research Triangle Park, NC. The goals of the workshop were to review the research progress made with the PFAAs, to share the recent discoveries, and to address the issues that are critical to support the health risk assessment of these chemicals. There were two main themes for the platform sessions: (i) environmental exposure and epidemiology; and (ii) toxicology. This report summarizes the highlights of the presented materials.
