As part of the ETV program, EvTEC evaluates innovative market-ready environmental technologies in the areas of pollution avoidance, control, remediation/restoration, and monitoring. EvTEC and the Washington State Department of Transportation are collaborating to evaluate new, innovative stormwater technologies. This unique project has drawn broad nationwide involvement of public and private water quality experts, and will result in objective, credible performance data for a variety of innovative stormwater control measures for ultra-urban applications. EvTEC was awarded the National Performance Review "Hammer" Award presented by the Office of the Vice President to federal teams and their partners in industry who have made significant contributions in support of reengineering government processes. EvTEC is continuing to enhance the communication network known as the EvTEC Alliance. The Alliance was launched at EvTEC's stakeholoder workshop in September 1997.
