Description:

The objective of this research is to investigate chlorinated by-products of a selected number of steroids representing both estrogens and androgens. Highly controlled reaction conditions were used to ascertain product distribution. Bench-scale studies were conducted to identify transformation products from the chlorination of several estrogenic compounds (estradiol, ethynylestradiol, and estriol) and androgen anabolic steroids. Kinetic parameters were also considered.
