Impact/Purpose:
The goal of the research is to identify energy inputs that support production of young fishes in coastal wetland ecosystem food webs using stable isotopes.
Description:
The goal of our research is to identify energy inputs that support production of young fishes in coastal wetland ecosystem food webs using stable isotopes. The data demonstrate that strong spatial heterogeneity exists in this food web, implying that the energy sources supporting fish production change rapidly in space and that the local food webs persist long enough to be detected with stable isotope techniques.
