Citation:

WILKIN, R. T., STEVE ACREE, AND P. MOLITOR. Workshop on Monitored Natural Attenuation for Inorganic Contaminants: 1 – Introduction, MNA Processes and Characterization. Presented at The 2008 NARPM Annual Training Conference, Portland, OR, July 07 - 11, 2008.

Impact/Purpose:

To present an overview of site characterization approaches to support evaluation of the potential for Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) as a remedy for inorganic contaminants in ground water.

Description:

The purpose of this training is to present an overview of site characterization approaches to support evaluation of the potential for Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) as a remedy for inorganic contaminants in ground water. The training will include discussion of the types of processes that can lead to attenuation of inorganic contaminants within ground water, the types of site characterization data needed to identify process mechanisms, and the capacity to sustain attenuation under site-specific conditions.
