This interactive conference CD provides a forum for the exchange of scientific information on current and future environmental issues which shape the future of the mining industry, including: base metals, precious metals, industrial minerals, and aggregates. The focus of the conference was to examine existing mining practices with emphasis on efficient extraction and maximum utilization of resources in mining (including all by-products), waste management, restoration/reclamation, and socio-economic advantages that contribute to sustainable development for Hard Rock mining. Attendees included mining remediation researchers and practitioners; federal, state, local, and tribal decision makers; the mining industry; and others interested in mining remediation and sustainability.
