EPA public web site providing the national sediment testing manual for dredged material proposed for discharge in waters of the U.S. Description from site: "The "Evaluation of Dredged Material Proposed for Dischage in Waters of the U.S. - Testing Manual", commonly referred to as the Inland Testing Manual represents a major effort by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to establish procedures applicable to the evaluation of potential contaminant-related environmental impacts associated with the discharge of dredged material in inland waters, near coastal waters, and surrounding environs (taht is, all waters other than the ocean and the territorial seas, regulated pursuant to Section 404, CWA). This manual is consistent, to the maximum extent practicable, with the procedures established for ocean waters (i.e., the "Green book" entitled "Evaluation of Dredged Material proposed for Ocean Disposal - Testing Manual")."
