This presentation briefly describes the state of research and management in Lake Superior concerning fisheries and their association to habitat. It discusses a general habitat classification for the lake and an increasing interest in the nearshore, summarizing the status of contaminants in Lake Superior fishes, and introduces the importance of nearshore habitat including wetlands, and speculates on how climate change will affect lake habitat.
