LYONS, T. AND K. COOK. ENGINEERING ISSUE: TECHNOLOGY ALTERNATIVES FOR THE REMEDIATION OF SOIL AND SEDIMENT CONTAMINATED WITH PCBS. Presented at Association for Environmental Health Sciences (AEHS), 17th Annual Meeting and West Coast Conference on Soils, Sediment and Water, San Diego, CA, March 19 - 22, 2007.

Description:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Engineering Bulletins are a series of documents that summarize the available information on selected treatment and site remediation technologies and related issues. They provide summaries of and references to the latest information to help project managers, onscene coordinators, and other state or private remediation managers and their technical support personnel understand the type of data and site characteristics needed to evaluate a technology for potential applicability to their hazardous waste sites. The polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) bulletin is a variation in that it evaluates all the different treatment technologies that are applicable to PCB as a contaminate. With this information personnel can facilitate the selection of appropriate remedial alternatives for soils contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). This bulletin primarily condenses information that can be found in more comprehensive reports, trade journals, and other scientific documents.
