A CONCEPT MAP FOR INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND FUTURES MODELING

Citation:

BERGER, P. A. AND D. WHITE. A CONCEPT MAP FOR INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND FUTURES MODELING. Presented at Workshop in Integrated Modeling for Integrated Environmental Decision Making, RTP, NC, January 31 - February 01, 2007.

Description:

Integrated assessment models are differentiated from other models by their explicit concern for results that are useful to decision makers. While the details will differ greatly for each particular integrated assessments project, there are certain concepts that will be present for all such projects. The concept map presented in this poster (see below) illustrates these common relationships and feedbacks among scientific research, policy questions, community participation, and institutional requirements. Additional details on those concepts particular to the modeling process are discussed in more detail below.
