MONITORED NATURAL ATTENUATION FOR INORGANIC CONTAMINANT REMEDIATION IN GROUND WATER: LINES OF EVIDENCE

Citation:

WILKIN, R. T. MONITORED NATURAL ATTENUATION FOR INORGANIC CONTAMINANT REMEDIATION IN GROUND WATER: LINES OF EVIDENCE. Presented at U.S. EPA Workshop on Natural Attenuation Remediaiotn for Contaminated Sites, Taipei, TAIWAN, October 26 - 27, 2006.

Impact/Purpose:

To inform the public.

Description:

Evaluation of MNA for inorganic contaminants requires detailed studies on the aqueous phase and the solid phase. This presentation covers the lines of evidence that may be collected during site investigations to evaluate natural attenuation mechanisms and site-specific capacities for attenuation. The importance of sample collection and preservation is emphasized for proper evaluation of natural attenuation mechanisms.
