To inform the public

Description:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency established the Environmental Technology Verification Program to accelerate the development and commercialization of improved environmental technology through third party verification and reporting of product performance. Research Triangle Institute has created a test and QA plan for testing heavy-duty engines at the Southwest Research Institute's Department of Emissions Research. This plan describes the procedures for Determination of Emissions Reductions Obtained by Use of Alternative or Reformulated Liquid Fuels, Fuel Additives, Fuel Emulsions, and Lubricants for Highway and Nonroad Use Diesel Engines and Light Duty Gasoline Engines and Vehicles. This testing is to quantify the effectiveness of "commercial ready" fuel and lubricant modifications for reducing emissions.
