Impact/Purpose:

To better quantify estuarine habitat use by fish

Description:

We present a novel approach to quantifying estuarine habitat use by fish using stable isotopes. In brief, we further developed and evaluated an existing stable isotope turnover model to estimate the time American shad, an anadromous clupeid, spend in various river habitats during the first year of life.
