MERCURY LEVELS IN HARVESTED FISHES FROM FLORIDA GULF COAST MX964229

Impact/Purpose:

This project will provide data that will demonstrate the extent of mercury pollution in the Gulf coastal waters of Florida and provide the necessary information for the State to issue valid consumption advisories for any estuarine or marine fish that may pose a threat to health of fish consumers.

Description:

This project supports the collection of fish tissue samples and associated biological and environmental data from coastal waters of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico to determine total mercury levels and relationship to species, size, age, sex and capture location.
