Description:
Four polychlorinated dibenzodioxin and furan (PCDD/F) emission monitors were tested under the EPA Environmental Technology and Verification (ETV) program. Two long-term sampling devices, the DioxinMonitoringSystem and Adsorption Method for Sampling Dioxins and Furans, and two semi-real time continuous monitors, Resonance Ionization with Multi-Mirror Photon Accumulation Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer, and Jet REMPI (Resonance Enhanced Multi-Photon Ionization), were tested. Reference samples were collected from a boiler and analyzed for PCDDs/Fs using EPA Method 23. The performance of the four systems tested simultaneously was evaluated in terms of relative accuracy, range, data completeness, and operational factors such as ease of use, maintenance and consumables.
