TOWKSJHEA, A., S. IWENOFU, L. KISSINGER, AND A. H. WILLIAMS. QUINAULT INDIAN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TRIBAL SEAFOOD CONSUMPTION SURVEY SOFTWARE. Presented at National Forum on Tribal Environmental Science, Ocean Shores, WA, September 24 - 28, 2006.

Description:

The Quinault Indian Nation needed to determine appropriate seafood consumption rates for development of their water quality standards. EPA Region 10 and EPA's National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory had been collaborating on computer assisted personal interview (CAPI) software to facilitate the conduct of Native American seafood consumption surveys. To further the objectives of the Quinault and EPA, both groups collaborated on CAPI customization and pilot testing. This presentation will discuss the rationale for CAPI development; advantages and limitations of CAPIs; features of the CAPI; what was learned from pilot testing; and what will be done with the CAPI in the future.

This is an abstract of a proposed presentation and does not necessarily reflect EPA policy.
