Description:

We compare our results with previous studies of nutrients and stoichiometry in these rivers. We link EEA to regional-scale anthropogenic stressors, and suggest that microbial anzyme regulation of carbon and nutrient dynamics may be sensitive indicators of ecological condition in the Great River ecosystems.
