Impact/Purpose:

The objective of this task is to provide the National Children's Study Program Office with a quality management plan that will delineate a systematic planning process for the implementation of the National Children's Study. The QMP is to state the goals and objectives of the NCS, the management structure, project schedules, resources, milestones, and requirements. The QMP is to identify the type of data and information the study requires, how and where this information will be obtained, the study's design, boundaries and constraints. The QMP is to describe the multidisciplinary effort for the NCS and identify all QA documents needed for its implementation. The QMP will identify the organizations and persons responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and monitoring of the NCS quality assurance requirements.

Description:

A Quality Management Plan (QMP) is under development for a national, interagency, long-term study known as the National Children's Study (NCS). The NCS is a study to examine the effects of environmental influences on the health and development of more than 100,000 children across the United States, following them from before birth until age 21.
