SAN PEDRO VEGETATION MAP GRID DATA
Description:
This data set is a digital vegetation map of the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area and Babocomari River. The map was produced by manual interpretation of true-color, stereo aerial photography flown in November 2000. Standard U.S. Geological Survey Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles served as the image base for polygon digitization. The National Vegetation Classification System was used as the framework for determining the map units. For all polygons, floristic attributes of physiognomic class and alliance and structural attributes of dominant life form canopy cover, total canopy cover, and stand height are recorded. The nominal minimum mapping unit is one hectare for the floodplain portion of the study site and four hectares in the upland portion.
