Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of sponsoring a Louisiana Exotic Invasive Species Symposium is to obtain more information on the current state and best control mechanisms of exotic invasive species, both in Louisiana and in other states around the Gulf of Mexico that have similar ecological characteristics and invasive species problems. The Louisiana Exotic Invasive Species Symposium will also assess data gaps in order to determine what additional research is needed to fully understand the effect of exotic invasive species on Louisiana’s coastal environment, economy, and cultural heritage

Description:

The Louisiana Exotic Invasive Species Symposium will provide a multi-state collaboration among agency representatives, scientists, and the affected public to address the problem of exotic invasive species and to improve coastal environmental conditions in Louisiana.
