Description:

The purpose of the activities described in this document is to provide a demonstration of the procedures and methodologies described within the "Guidance for Evaluating Landfill Gas Emissions from Closed or Abandoned Facilities" (Guidance). This demonstration provides an example case study for reference by the practitioner. These efforts were not intended to provide a comprehensive site analysis or complete risk assessment. Use and implementation of the Guidance was illustrated at three separate sites. A stand alone case study has been published for each of these sites: (1) Somersworth Sanitary Landfill Superfund Site, City of Somersworth in Strafford County, New Hamshire; (2) Rose Hill Regional Landfill Superfund Site is located within the town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island in the Village of Pease Dale; and (3) Bush Valley Landfill Superfund Site is located in Harford County, Maryland, one mile from the town of Abingdon.
