Description:
Thermal remediation is being proposed by Region I for remediation of the overburden soil and groundwater at the Solvent Recovery Services New England Superfund site. This presentation at the public meeting will acquaint area residents with thermal remediation. The two types of thermal remediation that are being considered for this site, Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) and Thermal Conductive Heating (TCH) will be described, and slides will be shown of other sites where these technologies have been applied. The potential risks of the technologies and their mitigation will also be discussed.
