HARTEN, T. M. ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION PROGRAM. Presented at EPA Science Forum 2005, Washington, DC, May 16 - 18, 2005.

Description:

This presentation will be given at the EPA Science Forum 2005 in Washington, DC. The Environmental Technology Verification Program (ETV) was initiated in 1995 to speed implementation of new and innovative commercial-ready environemntal technologies by providing objective, 3rd party testing data on the performance of these technologies. In a risk averse environmental marketplace, ETV provides purchasers and regulators with credible information on which to make purchasing and permitting decisions and vendors with verification results to use in marketing new technologies. Since 1995, ETV has verified the performance of 317 technologies and developed 78 test protocols using public/private partnerships and a multi-interest stakeholder process for developing protocols and carrying out testing and reporting. ETV's EPA funding is doubled through collaborative cost sharing and in-kind support from non profit research institutes, other state, local and federal governmental agencies, trade organizations and vendors.
