BEHAVIORAL RISK FACTOR SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM (BRFSS)

Description:

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), the world's largest telephone survey, tracks health risks in the United States. Information from the survey is used to improve the health of the American people. Since the early 1980s, BRFSS data have been used to identify emerging health issues, document health trends, compare health behaviors across states, and measure progress toward health goals. Data gathered through the BRFSS provide important information for the development of public health programs.
