NATIONAL SURVEY OF RURAL HEALTH CLINICS

Description:

The National Survey of Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) was conducted as an effort to obtain up-to-date on the characteristics and operations of RHCs nationally and the federal Office of Rural Health Policy commissioned this survey of RHCs. The RHC Program is one of the oldest health care policy initiatives specifically designed to improve access to primary care services in rural communities. Rural Health Clinics in an area defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as non urbanized (e.g., an area with a population of less than 50,000) and designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as having a shortage of personal health care services or primary care medical services.
