Description:

Department of Defense (DoD) Gonococcal Isolate Surveillance Project (GISP). The DoD Global Emerging Infections Surveillance and Response System (DoD-GEIS) partners with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in the global surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is essential for DoD to participate in Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial resistance surveillance activities to ensure that military beneficiaries receive optimal treatment and to help reduce the spread of resistant isolates.
