NATIONAL TRAUMATIC OCCUPATIONAL FATALITIES (NTOF)

Description:

The National Traumatic Occupational Fatalities (NTOF) surveillance system is a death certificate-based census of occupational injury deaths. Death certificates are obtained from the 50 States, New York City, and the District of Columbia for decedent's ages 16 years or older with an external cause of death (ICD-9, E800-E999) and for whom the certifier noted a positive response to the "Injury at Work?" item. Data are currently available for the period 1980 through 1998. Data for 1998 exclude New York State.
