NATIONAL HEALTH PROVIDER INVENTORY

Description:

The National Health Provider Inventory provides data on services, location, staff, capacity, and other characteristics of selected health care providers in the United States. Information is collected via mail questionnaire with telephone follow up to all providers (100% census) of selected types. In 1991 (the last time the inventory was conducted), the inventory included nursing and personal care homes, licensed board and care homes, home health agencies, and hospices. The source of the information is the financial and administrative records of the provider. The individual provider is the record unit in the inventory database.
