Description:

This is a state-of-the-art extended abstract presentation summary of the outputs from the oil spill program over the last 11 years. It summarizes the results of 3 field studies involving intentional releases of crude oil: the Delaware study in 1994 (sandy beach), the St. Lawrence River study in 1999-2000 (freshwater wetland), and the Nova Scotia study in 2001 (saltmarsh). The 4-page paper also summarizes the 2 guidance documents completed in 2001 and 2003, showing how to implement bioremediation on sandy shorelines and freshwater and/or saltwater wetlands.
